What patients say on Google
“Always feel listened to and supported by the providers here. I've had three different providers and they all have been great to work with. If my friends are looking for a new psych – I always recommend them to try here.”
“I'm an outpatient psychiatrist in LA and I refer patients here for interventional psychiatry including TMS. Everyone has had a fantastic experience here. Dr. Somanath is an expert in his field. I'm very pleased with how they collaborate with my practice and will continue to refer cases here.”
“I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Psychiatry Treatment Center. My daughter was referred to this facility by her medical team as we explored TMS as a potential treatment option. As a parent, I was seeking help for a child who is struggling, and I made it clear during the consultation that we were desperate for support and were following the recommendations of the professionals involved in her care. Our initial consultation was conducted with Ruben. While he was courteous, the appointment felt rushed, and after the initial assessment we were quickly told that Dr. Somanath would personally review the case and intervene because my daughter was considered a high-needs patient. The following day, I received a call directly from Dr. Somanath. During that conversation, rather than discussing ways they might be able to help, I was given multiple reasons why my daughter was not a good fit for treatment at their facility and was advised to seek care elsewhere because she supposedly required a higher level of care. What I found particularly troubling was the contradiction in that recommendation. The very treatment we were seeking—TMS—was essentially dismissed as unlikely to benefit her at this center, yet I was told that another facility would be a better option. If the treatment itself could potentially help her elsewhere, why was she deemed unsuitable here? The message I received was not one of thoughtful clinical evaluation, but rather that my daughter's case was too difficult or too complicated for their practice. As a parent, that was heartbreaking to hear. Families seeking mental health care are often already carrying an enormous burden, and being turned away after finally finding a potential option can be incredibly discouraging. I fully understand that providers must exercise clinical judgment and determine whether a patient is an appropriate candidate for treatment. However, I left this experience feeling that my daughter had been prejudged rather than genuinely evaluated as an individual. It seemed as though the focus was on avoiding a challenging case rather than exploring whether there was a path forward that could help her. When families come to a psychiatric treatment center, especially after being referred by their medical team, they are often doing so because they have exhausted other options and are searching for hope. I wish our experience had reflected the compassion, curiosity, and patient-centered approach that families in crisis deserve. I hope the practice reflects on how these situations are handled in the future. Even when treatment is not offered, patients and families should leave feeling heard, respected, and supported—not dismissed.”
“I felt heard and understood. Their office is clean, professional, and welcoming. I live in WLA so wish there was a facility closer, but thankfully they do video visits after your first visit.”
