“I came here to see Frizette Dodson Pua. On the website her bio states that she is “compassionate” and “endeavors to break barriers to mental health treatment.” However, my experience with her was anything but that. She was outright biased, portrayed stigmatizing attitudes, and held a non-compassionate stance towards me. She summed me up before I even got to her office. She knew before she met me that she didn’t want to see me. Even when I explained my situation, and offered to sign a release for her to talk to the doctor that referred me to her, she was completely unwilling to listen or help me in any way. I wasn’t even looking for any one particular solution. I spent more time waiting for her in the waiting room, then I actually spent in her office talking to her. Although I was on time for my appointment, she didn’t come get me for 15 minutes. Her door was open that whole time. So it wasn’t that she was running over with someone else. I was pretty upset when I left due to how awful she was treating me. Bottom line is that I do not recommend Frizette Dodson Pua, nor this business. Any mental health business that employs people that are bias like she is, is not a business that needs to be treating people that are seeking empathic care for their mental health needs.”
